VIDEO: Hobo Heater

A lot of old fire place and stove designs used heating a mass (of rocks, clay, etc.) as part of the design because that mass would re-radiate heat over an extended period of time. It beats having to wake up every hour or so during the night to stoke a fire or add more wood. This uses the same principle by heating up sand in a bucket that, it appears, has enough heat for a small tent or shelter.
