The Daily Mail reports on growing outrage in New Jersey over spiking energy bills:
The New Jersey's Board of Public Utilities (BPU) approved a 17-20 percent hike in June for the majority of households in The Garden State.
Republicans in the state have claimed it is tied directly to Democratic Governor Phil Murphy's move to shut down the state's nuclear and coal plants in 2017.
Murphy touted offshore turbines as the way forward, but none of them have yet to be completed due to issues around costs.
According to the Wall Street Journal, electric bills in the state now rank as the 12th highest in the nation, with prices 15 percent higher than the national average.
The outlet also reported the state is becoming increasingly depending on out-of-state generation to meet the electricity demand.
We used to be a nation where we did things.

DeleteWe have the same thing going on in Connecticut, the democRat controlled legislature slipped in a public betterment payment for people who "cannot" pay their electic bill. I am sure all those on assistance have cellphones, 60" TVs a fridge full of assistance food bought using SNAP. And our a-hole gov is contemplating a 3rd term, local news says he has a 63% approval rating! Connecticut is circling the drain
ReplyDeleteI've never understood the Democrat obsession with forcing people to be charitable. It used to be that charity came from churches and benevolent organizations that were voluntary, but now it is by the government that collects the money by force. I suppose it is less about helping people and more about political influence.
