Japan: Going, Going, Go...

Japan continues its demographic decline with DW reporting: "Japan sees record drop in population in 2024". Per the article, Japan's population fell by 908,574 people in 2024. "This is the 16th straight year in which the Japanese population has shrunk, reducing it to 120.65 million people down from a peak of 126.6 million in 2009, according to the Internal Affairs Ministry." The article further states that Japan also saw births fall below 700,000 for the first time on record in 2024--the lowest number since records began to be kept in 1899.
