Last week I linked to a good article on how to sharpen a pocket knife. I subsequently came across this article from Blue Collar Prepping on the subject of "Knife and Hand Safety Review," motivated by the injury of the author's co-worker while using a knife. He links to a knife safety video intended for boy scouts, but also reviews some basic safety rules:
- Keep your knife sharp and clean.
- Cut away from your body.
- Maintain and enforce a "Circle of Blood"--i.e., keeping others outside the reach of your blade when working with a knife.
