At least not any more, according to the video below. The producer/host discusses how books written by and for women in most genres have largely degenerated into "adult entertainment". She also notes that while there is plenty of research of the impact of consumption of "adult entertainment" by men, there is pretty much no research on the impact these types of books have on women. Rather, feminists push it as being liberating and empowering. But the producer/host, based on her own reaction to reading several of these books to research for this video and the accounts of others, believes the impact is just as negative on women and perhaps even more negative.
