Although Trump has generally cracked down on accepting refugees there is one notable exception: on February 7, 2025, President Trump issued an executive order stopping the provision of aid or assistance to South Africa, and that the United States "shall promote the resettlement of Afrikaner refugees escaping government-sponsored race-based discrimination, including racially discriminatory property confiscation."
