The Deep State In Action

... According to a newly released document from Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, the FBI secretly monitored the phone records of at least eight sitting Republican senators. While the bureau is said not to have accessed the content of the conversations, it could see who was called, when the calls were made, how long they lasted, and even the location data.

The ostensible justification was special counsel Jack Smith’s phony investigation into whether President Donald Trump sought to overturn the 2020 presidential election — a claim that has no connection to these senators and provides no legal basis for examining their communications, especially since their phone records were sought three years after the election and two months after Trump had already been indicted for allegedly trying to overturn it. The entire operation was a flagrantly abusive fishing expedition carried out with total impunity. The internal FBI document confirming the bureau’s actions was then buried in a secret “prohibited access” file, where it was recently unearthed by FBI Director Kash Patel.

It also involved the usual suspects: Attorney General Merrick Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray, special counsel Jack Smith, and FBI agent Timothy Thibault, with the article pointing out:

Thibault has been involved in nearly every fabricated investigation since 2016, including Russiagate, the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop probe under the false claim it was a Russian plot, and the orchestration of the 2020 election “investigation” long before Jack Smith arrived.

The 2020 census was marketed as an “actual enumeration,” a neutral count of people for apportionment and funding. It was not. The same official who helped block a basic citizenship question in 2018, John M. Abowd, then the Census Bureau’s Chief Scientist, pushed through a new, opaque methodology in 2020 called differential privacy. The new system deliberately injected mathematical noise into every block count in America, turning the census from a headcount into a model with knobs. The knob that mattered most was a single parameter, epsilon, a secrecy shroud known only to a small inner circle. Abowd argued that a single added question about citizenship posed an intolerable risk to data quality because there was, he said, not enough time to test it. Then he rushed an untested algorithm that altered every count in every neighborhood. The irony is so sharp it cuts: the man who warned that one question might distort the census approved a method that guaranteed distortion.

Yes, but a question about citizenship would have benefited the Republicans while the distortion Abowd introduced helped the Democrats get more power and more money to siphon off.

  • "Wrist Slaps for Left Wing Assassins and Terrorists Only Encourage More Violence"--Shooting News Weekly.  Nicholas Roske, who attempted to assassinate Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, received only an 8 year prison sentence from a liberal judge (Deborah Boardman). The article observes: "The message from left-wing judges is clear: If you plot or perpetrate violence against conservatives, you will be rewarded with light sentences. The message it sends to would-be leftist terrorists yet to commit their violence is that the criminal justice system has their back." That is the point. It worked the same way in the 1960s and '70s with the various leftist radicals.

    1. Reminds me of a quote:
"Evidence? Hmph! That's not how our court system works."
"Then how can I prove my innocence?"
"Simple, I say what happened, then you say what happened, then *I* decide who's right.
"That's why we call it 'justice.' Because it's 'just us.'"

  2. Ayn Rand had a rather apropos quote about this point in your government's history...
Honestly, the people that think we're not completely fucked and it can be saved, I dunno how you do it! The current crop are more crooked than Nixon ever dreamed of being, and nobody has been indicted, let alone hung from the old oak tree...

    1. I wonder how many think it can be saved versus just wanting to kick the can down the road a bit further so they don't have to deal with it today?
