Democrats Being Democrats

Officials in President Trump’s Justice Department have been scrutinizing crime data in recent months — they’ve found evidence that Democratic politicians have been skewing crime stats for their own benefit ahead of the midterm elections, The Post has learned.

Illinois Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker — a vocal opponent of Trump’s use of federal troops for both immigration enforcement and fighting big-blue-city crime — has lately touted double-digit declines in Chicago crime rates where “shootings and homicides on our highways are down 60, 70, 80% depending on where you look.”

But the number of felonies in Chicago — not to mention New York, Los Angeles and Portland, Ore. — is declining only because woke prosecutors are knocking down felonies to something less severe for political reasons, DOJ sources say.

Famous among them is Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney who has continued to allow violent offenders to plead to misdemeanors instead of felonies even after committing robberies or violent assaults.

  •  And with a local (for me) slant: "The No Kings protest draws thousands in another huge turnout in Boise"--KIVI TV. From the report: "The last one didn't have such a good turnout, but Saturday's might have been the largest yet, as it looked like roughly 10,000 people attended the rally." I would guess, based on the photograph and my knowledge of how large (or small) is the area shown that it is more likely only a few thousand. And I liked this bit (bold added):

"The people of Boise are amazing and the turnout is great," said Casey Burley, who recently moved to Idaho from Colorado. "I think it’s obvious that we need to make some changes.”

I'd be willing to be that the majority of those in the crowds aren't real Idahoans but transplants from blue states. That aside, though, consider what are the "No Kings" protests about? A rejection of the will of the people as expressed in the last presidential election. An analogy that my LDS readers will understand is that the "No Kings" crowd is essentially the same types of people that made up the King-men in The Book of Mormon--a group of the ruling elites that found that they did not like government by the voice of the people and preferred rule by the elites.
