Why Does Time Seem To Slow Down When In Danger?

The answer, according to the articles listed below, is that the parts of our brain that process emotion also process time, so during heightened emotion, our perception of time also alters. It may be an evolutionary adaptation to help us better collect and process more data than usual in order to make the best decision.
