VIDEO: "Use Of Fire" (1943)

This is a British WWII training film that is on the use of fire for a squad or platoon. Although it does tend to focus on using the Bren Gun (the unit's automatic rifle) it covers topics of use to infantry style combat generally such as shooting from cover, dead zones and how to overcome them by shooting from a height, the beaten zone from firing and how it changes due to the terrain, and the basics of fire and maneuver. It also discusses using fire to signal, to determine the location of the enemy, and suppressing an enemy attempting to move under concealment of smoke. And the important issue of initiative of fire and how to gain (or regain) initiative.
