"Ammo: 8.6 Blackout Review"--Shooting Illustrated. Like the .300 BLK but intended for hunting--thus the larger size and weight of the projectile. The case is based off the 6.5 Creedmoor case, so I presume it will work out of a short-action rifle. The main thing that distinguishes it from it competitors is the high twist rate--1:3--which higher rotational velocity is supposed to translate into better terminal performance by "help[ing] the bullet to better open/upset/expand at supersonic velocities, and especially at subsonic velocities where linear velocity is limited."
