Survived Being Shot 9 Times

Brody Young, a Utah park ranger, recounts his experience of being shot nine times by an assailant while on duty and left for dead. Young had been out in the desert near Moab looking for kids holding illegal parties when he came across a man sleeping in a car. He woke the man up and told the man he would have to find someplace else to sleep. As Young walked back to his vehicle, the man started shooting him with a .40 handgun. The man shot 15 rounds, striking Young nine times. Young was eventually able to get his sidearm free and shot once, striking his attacker. Young then fell unconscious and his attacker left. After regaining consciousness, Young was able to summon assistance and eventually returned to work as a park ranger. The remains of the attacker was found 5 years later by hikers.

    1. I couldn't find anything about the attacker's vocation, other than he had a history of drug and assault charges.
