Spotter Up highlights Australia's new Australian Combat Assault Rifle (ACAR) line "designed" and manufactured by Lithgow Arms. They are AR style rifles that are, other than the giggle switch, probably indistinguishable from what you already have in your safe or cabinet: a standard direct impingement AR flat-top with a free float MLOK handguard, collapsible stock and ambi-safety. They come in two sizes--standard (5.56 or .300 BLK) and large (7.62x51) with a few different barrel lengths. Oh, and they come with flash hiders designed to accept a sound suppressor. So what makes them so special? Non-milspec receivers, I guess. According to the article, Lithgow will be introducing a gas-piston version in the future which will make them heavier, I guess.
All firearms should have iron sites. Especially military rifles
ReplyDeleteI hadn't caught that, but you are right. I even followed the link to an earlier article previewing the weapons and none had backup sights and only one had a quick release mount.
