    Israel’s government may soon approve a large mobilisation of military reservists, with plans to call up about 450,000 troops, the country’s public broadcaster reported on Sunday.

    The broadcaster said it had learned that the move is part of military preparations for the war and the possible launch of a ground operation in Lebanon. It did not cite a source for the information.

    According to the report, the Israeli military and security agencies has already submitted the request for mobilisation. The proposal is expected to be presented soon to government ministers and members of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee for approval.
