Staring with the scene in From Russia With Love where James Bond uses an AR-7 against a couple killers in a helicopter, this discusses some of the survival rifles that preceded the AR-7, the AR-7's development and history, his shooting of a pre-Henry version, and finishes with the latest version sold by Henry. I fooled around with an older version many years ago and found it to be a good rifle for its purpose--the accuracy was fine as I remember and it was reliable (at least the model I was shooting) although it did need to be cleaned about every 100 rounds or so to maintain its reliability. If I had not already owned, at that time, a Marlin Papoose, I might have very well bought one for my own use. Now that I no longer have the Papoose, I sometimes catch myself looking over the Henry AR-7s when I see them in a gun shop.
