The Bugscuffle Gazette (aka, Law Dog Files) explains that the Somalis in Minneapolis are primarily from the two largest clans in Somalia--the Daarood and the Hawiye--and they hate each other. According to the article, Omar Fateh is Daarood, so the Hawiye voted for the white candidate. He adds:
... Omar Fateh, Ihlan Omar, and a whole bunch of Daaroods in Minnesota are capital ‘P’ Pissed, capital ‘O’ Off about the whole thing.
I know full well and certain how … spicy … tribal conflicts can get — and you couldn’t pay me enough to live in Minneapolis for the next few years.
