Now that Trump has signed the bill authorizing the release of the Epstein files, the Justice Department has 30 days in which to release the files. There are certain exceptions, however, for records that relate to active criminal investigations or which are deemed to invade personal privacy, which should pretty much include all of the documents. In fact, Thomas Massie is predicting that is how the juicier information will be scrubbed from the release because, otherwise, it will reveal Epstein's ties to not just Israeli intelligence, but our own intelligence agencies. But if, by some miracle, there are documents of any real import released what might they show?
Lefty journalist Sharon Waxman, writing at The Wrap, recently penned an article entitled "The Epstein Emails Show That Conspiracy Theorists Are Right: ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ Is Real," about the limited number of emails that have already been released. She begins:
The shocking revelation in the trove of 20,000 emails from the sordid world of Jeffrey Epstein is not that crimes were being committed.
It’s more sinister. The emails are disturbing because what they reveal — and in fact prove — is that conspiracy theorists are right. That their theories of full-on corruption in the upper spheres where power lives are valid. That the “Eyes Wide Shut“ cabal of political and financial interests married to sexual deviance depicted in Stanley Kubrick’s 1999 film is not, in fact, fiction. It is reality.
While she desperately wants President Trump to be brought down by Epstein's files (ignoring that one of the victims, Virginia Giuffre, called Trump her hero), she acknowledges that the revelations include both sides of the political aisle, and "suggest that in fact there is a widespread code among people with power and money who support one another," adding:
And it validates what has animated so much of the MAGA movement and the populist anger among progressives: the belief that the system is rigged. That regular people cannot get access to the byways of power or, eventually, money.

But the swamp is fighting back. As for the GOP ranks, Breitbart reveals that "[f]ormer President George W. Bush and his family are reportedly planning to retake the Republican Party from President Donald Trump once he is out of office," while from the Democrats we get this: "Six Democrats openly call for military and intelligence services to disobey President Trump’s orders." The six are: Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), Sen. Mark Kelly (AZ), Rep. Jason Crow (CO), Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (PA), Rep. Chris Deluzio (PA), and Rep. Maggie Goodlander (NH).
