Now this isn't a headline you see everyday! "Woman who murdered her wife with huge Samurai sword gets lengthy prison sentence" reports the Daily Mail. Weichien Huang, 45, was sentenced to 35 years to life after being convicted or murdering her wife, Chen Chen Fei, 47, and attempting to murder Fei's mother Hsi Wei Huang in July 2024. Per the article, "Huang stabbed her wife 13 times during an argument about their looming divorce at their home in San Dimas, Los Angeles, on July 18, 2024." I'm actually surprised we don't see more murders like this given that domestic violence is much higher among lesbian and bisexual women: "61% of bisexual women and 44% of lesbian women surveyed in 2013 reported some type of intimate partner violence (IPV) compared to 35% of straight women."
Do we not see more of those murders because they don't happen, or because they don't get reported in the media? I can see the media not reporting murders between lesbian partners because it tarnishes the LGBT+P movement's reputation, and indirectly makes Democrats look bad.
ReplyDeleteI suspect that it is a little of both: women are less likely than men to resort to lethal levels of violence and the media downplays such incidents or omits critical information.
