The Genesis of the Lipsey "Ultimate Carry" J-Frames

As you may or may not know, Lipsey teamed with Smith & Wesson to move the snubby J-frame revolvers into the 21st Century including real sights on the guns that can be switched out, more ergonomic grips, and improving many small things that people have complained about for ... well ... decades. These "Ultimate Carry" revolvers are lightweight aluminum frame weapons offered in .38 Special (5-shots) and .32 H&R Magnum (6-shots) with an MSRP of $759. Of course, as with all things Lipsey, these are special runs available only through Lipsey so there is no guarantee that Smith & Wesson will actually update their revolver line over the long run.

In any event, the Revolver Guy has a lengthy article on how these weapons came about--the people involved, what improvements were sought, the development process, and other details related to the announcement at Shot Show 2024. If you are interested in that type of thing, be sure to check out the article. This is the first of two articles on the weapons. The second part, which will probably come out next week, will be a review.
