Ben Shapiro's video discusses how horses were replaced by tractors, cars, trucks and various engines and motors; and suggests that the coming AI (and robotics) revolution will make most people irrelevant. The horses that remain primarily are used for recreation, which begs the question of whether that will be the fate of humanity absent divine intervention. The host suggest that the difference between the horse and people are that people can have an ownership interest (shares) in the new technology, but in reality what proportion of the population will be in that position? Or will the only "ordinary people" that are allowed to remain be only those for the amusement and recreation of the elites?
We seem headed toward a society similar to that predicted by Isaac Asimov in his novel, The Naked Sun--a world where AI and robotics have replaced all but a small number of elites. The question is whether the top elites let the population naturally reduce itself, or work to speed up the process.
