From the New York Post: "Heroic South African dad kills armed carjacker in gunfight with gang as he shields daughter from bullets." There is a video also showing the interior of the car and the father shielding his daughter with his body as he returns fire on the five gang members. One was killed by a shot to the head and four fled the scene.
Wild video showed the dad unleashing a volley of shots at the thieves who had seemingly eyed an opportunity to wreak havoc on his family just four days after moving into their Pinetown, South Africa home.
The dad – identified as Sidney Hill – pulled out of his driveway late on Oct. 9 when he suddenly came under fire from two armed men who had jumped out of the back of a Renault Kiger.
He then whipped out his gun from his waistband and retaliated – all while protecting his terrified daughter sitting next to him, the video shows.
During the shootout, some 27 shots rang out in just 14 seconds — with one hitting one of the gang in the head, killing him.
