The oldest version of Little Red Riding Hood, according to this video, was much darker than the tale we know today, having elements of a werewolf, murder, cannibalism, and human sacrifice. The video goes on to suggest that the tale may have its source in even older practices of a wolf cult and transformation brought on by eating certain types of meat.
