RIP Gaston Glock

 Armed Defender Gear Review is reporting that Gaston Glock has passed away.

  1. He was 94 years old. He belongs on the wall of fame with Samuel Colt, John Browning, Kalashnikov and Stoner...in terms of his impact on firearms design and development. His passing reminds me of my advancing age as well. When Glocks first hit the scene I was an 18 year old kid getting ready for college. I remember having my curiosity peaked when I heard that it was made from ceramic and could pass through an airport detector.

Yeah, I remember the big scare about undetectable guns (even becoming a major plot element in the Clint Eastwood film, "In The Line Of Fire") and Congress passing a law (Undetectable Firearms Act of 1988) based on the fearmongering. One of the reasons for having a Republican form of government is that our Congress critters are supposed to be more intelligent and objective than the masses, but I see little evidence of it.
