Man With Private Aircraft and 30 Palaces, Castles and Mansions To Lecture Commoners On Their Carbon Footprint

The Daily Mail reports that "Eco-activist King Charles will use Christmas day broadcast to deliver powerful message about the environment to millions of viewers across the country." "While the precise contents of the address are a closely guarded secret," the article reports that King Charles "will use his platform to make a timely point about living more sustainably to the millions of viewers tuning in." Which is pretty rich coming from a man who owns some 30 palaces, castles, manor houses, and other residential properties, uses private jets and helicopters (in addition to Royal Air Force jets when travelling on official state business) (see here and here) and has a personal carbon "footprint" estimated to be 423.3 tons (compared to 11.7 for the average UK resident)

But the King is trying to be better. He has committed to using more renewable friendly jet fuel (although I'm not sure how that works, but if he wants to run his jet on bio-diesel rather than kerosene, more power to him). His Jaguar sports car is electric, "his Aston Martin runs on fuel made from wine wastage and a cheese by-product," and the Royal train is a diesel/electric hybrid (I assume this means that, like every other diesel train engine out there, the diesel engine powers a generator that runs electric motors).

My impression from all of this is that the King must think his subjects are stupid.
