As this video from History Debunked explains, it is because of Israel's willingness to attack anyone--even allies--if it feels the need to do so, including its plans to lash out like a mad dog against anyone and everyone under the Sampson Option. That is, countries like Britain, France, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia assisted because they were afraid of what Israel would do if it suffered another large loss of life.
