More Than 30 Million Face Water Crises After Damage Found To Pipes At Glen Canyon Dam

 Article here. Short version: Glen Canyon Dam is the dam that creates Lake Powell, and is upstream of Lake Mead. The Bureau of Reclamation has discovered significant damage of the pipes that are part of the dam's river outlet works, which will prevent a spring release of water to recharge Lake Mead and threatening water supplies down stream. Lake Mead provides water for parts of California, Arizona, and Nevada, including Las Vegas.
