The following video discusses way to protect your church from someone tossing explosives inside, focusing on two churches that each suffered two such attacks recently in the Las Vegas area (Henderson, NV). One of the locations was an LDS church building and the other was a nearby unspecified church (or maybe I just didn't catch the name). (Although a news story I found indicated that this was actually the third such attack on the LDS church in the last month).
The event the video focuses on, however, was the attack last Wednesday at the LDS Church. The explosive device was thrown into a gymnasium ("cultural hall") during a youth activity (probably just the regular Wednesday "Mutual" meetings/activities). Although authorities are trying to downplay the incident by referring to the explosive as "fireworks", as the photographs in the video show, it was powerful enough to blow a hole in the floor and injured four people.
If you are familiar with the typical layout of an LDS church, this means that the attacker entered the building through one of multiple unlocked doors and then crossed a foyer or went down a hallway to reach the entrance to the gym. The author of the video discusses ways that a church could protect against such attacks, such as forcing everyone to come through a single entrance and having a guard posted outside the entrance and in view of the parking lot.
Not Good.
