Jim Treacher famously stated: "When Republicans screw up, that's the story. When Democrats screw up, the Republicans' reaction is the story." Such is the case here.
On March 29, 2024, the White House issued a Presidential Proclamation proclaiming a Transgender Day of Visibility. The Proclamation ended:
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 31, 2024, as Transgender Day of Visibility. I call upon all Americans to join us in lifting up the lives and voices of transgender people throughout our Nation and to work toward eliminating violence and discrimination based on gender identity.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-ninth day of March, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-four, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-eighth.
JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR.
March 31, 2024, was also Easter. Which led to a strong backlash against Biden and his blasphemy.
So how to Biden respond? By denying that he had issued any such proclamation, even though it is on the White House official website and clearly indicates that he signed off on the thing.
But realizing that this made Biden look like he didn't know what was going on in his White House, the Democrats have now switched to attacking the Republicans that noticed. For instance, Biden's trans health secretary Rachel Levine claimed that it was manufactured outrage on the the part of Republicans. The latter article states:
Joe Biden's highest-ranking transgender official Admiral Rachel Levine has criticized the 'faux outrage' sparked by the White House proclamation marking Transgender Day of Visibility on Easter Sunday.
Assistant secretary for health Adm. Levine insists the fury was 'manufactured' as the dates happened to coincide and the Biden administration did not try to overshadow the Christian holiday.
'I felt that it was faux outrage. It was manufactured,' Levine told The Advocate . 'It's just that this Sunday was Easter, which is a very important holiday and very important event, and it also just happened to be the 31st,' she added.
ABC News similarly reports that the White House is calling the criticism "dishonest":
The White House is pushing back against top Republicans' misleading criticism of President Joe Biden for issuing a proclamation in support of transgender people on the same day as Easter.
A spokesman for the president rejected the attacks from the House speaker, former President Donald Trump and others that Biden's "blasphemous" message for the Transgender Day of Visibility goes against Christianity.
"As a Christian who celebrates Easter with family, President Biden stands for bringing people together and upholding the dignity and freedoms of every American," White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said in a statement to ABC News.
"Sadly, it's unsurprising politicians are seeking to divide and weaken our country with cruel, hateful, and dishonest rhetoric. President Biden will never abuse his faith for political purposes or for profit," Bates added.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre likewise on Monday called out "cruel, hateful and dishonest rhetoric" around the president's proclamation.
She told reporters that the administration was "surprised by the misinformation" that circulated but said it was "unsurprising that politicians are seeking to divide" the country.
The excuse is that "Biden has issued a proclamation marking March 31 as the Transgender Day of Visibility every year since he took office in 2021," and so it was just coincidence that Easter and tranny "look at me" day fell on the same date this year.
As an initial matter, I don't believe it was a coincidence as there was no reason to put the Transgender Day of Visibility on a Sunday other than as a slight to Christians, and it is an easy Google search to find the dates of Easter in future years.
But even if it was a coincidence, the Biden Administration could have moved the Transgender Day of Visibility to a different date. After all, anyone with two brain cells to rub together would have realized that having a special tranny day on Easter would be provocative. Perhaps it could have been moved to Passover or the first day of Ramadan. But we know that the Biden Administration would never do anything to offend Jews or Muslims.
I didn't know this until a few days ago, but some flavor of LGBTQ+ is "celebrated" 145 days each year. This includes three full months, six full weeks, plus many other single day "celebrations". https://twitter.com/EndWokeness/status/1774191347081105733
ReplyDeleteWell, Chicago celebrated with multiple fatalities and dozens wounded.
ReplyDelete"...it is an easy Google search to find the date" of International Transgender Day of Visibility. Thus, "...anyone with two brain cells to rub together would have realized," that International Transgender Day of Visibility has ALWAYS been on March 31st since it's inception. Unlike the date of Easter which changes constantly from year to year - apparently based on the date of the full moon before hand.
ReplyDeleteI really feel sorry for those whose mental illness makes them so obsessed with other people - who are not actually harming them - and that they are so consumed with their own hate and anger that they must constantly be miserable to find offense in everything, even coincidences and so condemn anyone who is not just like they think they are. What a sad way to live. It's heart breaking really.
My post was actually a criticism of the Biden Administration and the MSM, and not transgender people like yourself. The Biden Administration was the one that started with issuing the proclamations a few years back and probably was the one to pick the date. So it was revealing that you viewed the post as being about you and other transgenders. But knowing how liberals feel compelled to project, I recognized your post as a cry for help--that you are miserable because you are consumed with hate and anger and believe that is what motivates others. I hope you are able to get the treatment and/or counseling that you need.
