Government Health Guidelines Have Been Lies

David Harsanyi's writes "Next Time Government Gives You Dietary Advice, Consider Doing the Opposite." Harsanyi goes on to briefly outline some of the bigger blunders: "not eating breakfast will cause you to gain weight"; "400,000 Americans were dying every year of obesity"; the alleged risks of second-hand smoke; "that eating high cholesterol food was dangerous," whereas there is no provable connection between dietary cholesterol and blood cholesterol; and, one of the most dangerous, the myth that a low sodium diet was healthy, when, if fact, it is bad to the health. Harsanyi doesn't get into the politics behind many of the decisions, but his article is well worth reading.
