The argument is that the refugees and migrants are used as a back channel method to funnel money (via remittances) back to intelligence and/or military assets in foreign countries.

It is a myth that borders cannot be secured and that those overstaying their welcomes cannot be repatriated. Look up "Operation Wetback," an Eisenhower-era (you can tell how old by the non-P.C. terminology) which was undertaken to remove the multitudes of temporary workers from Mexico who had simply stayed in the U.S. after the end of WW2. The operation was successful. Why? Because it was well-funded, and the political will to carry it out existed at the highest levels.
ReplyDeleteThus, any article suggesting that stopping mass migration is "impossible" ought to be viewed with a jaded and cynical eye, perhaps even seen as an influence op by pro-immigration forces.
He wasn’t arguing it was not possible but that the government won’t allow it.
