British Knife Laws And Two Tier Policing

In his most recent Defensive Pistolcraft news letter, Jon Low linked to an article by John Farnam on knife control in the UK an the recent stabbing deaths of three young white girls by a black Rhodesian. Farnam observes (emphasis in original):

One must jump through interminable hoops in the UK in order to so much as purchase a common kitchen knife.

UK authorities are now excitedly expressing concern about “ghost knives!”

    Curious that endless volumes of these fussy “regulations” imposed upon UK citizens, as well as all the tax-payer-funded, heavily-armed bodyguards who surround UK politicians everywhere they go;

All of that did nothing to protect these innocent little girls!

Going back to Jon Low's post, Jon adds:

Knife-control in the UK doesn't work.  Gun-control in the US doesn't work.  Why do you think politicians advocate such?

You better be prepared, because the government is not going to protect you.

And that is an accurate assessment of what has happened in the U.K. While those protesting the immigration policies that led to the stabbings have been arrested in their hundreds, mostly for "violent disorder," armed counter protestors--mostly Muslim--armed with machetes and other weapons were let off the hook, as this article from the Express relates:

Instead of arranging a search of the group to see if any had committed the offence of possession of an offensive weapon in public, for which they could be arrested and charged, the officer appeared to give them an amnesty.

Speaking through a loudspeaker, he is heard to say: "If there is any weapons or anything like that, then what I would do is discard them at the mosque.

This led to accusations of "two-tier" policing in the UK--one level of enforcement against white people protesting immigration and another for the immigrant mobs--which was vehemently denied by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. But as Breitbart reports:

A top police officer in Birmingham has seemingly admitted that there is a “two-tier” approach from law enforcement towards different ethnicities in Britain, undercutting denials from Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

Following the emergence of “Muslim people” mobs in England as apparent counter to what’s called “far right” riots, with reports stating some carrying weapons in the Bordesley Green area of Birmingham on Monday, the police appeared to admit they have different standards for different races while trying to explain their failure to prevent the anarchic scenes.

When pressed as to why there was such little police presence during the incident, West Midlands Police Superintendent Emlyn Richards said: “We have really strong business and community relations and because we were aware through intelligence that there was a potential protest because of misinformation we had the opportunity to meet with community leaders, business leaders, prior to that event to understand the style of policing we needed to deliver.

“We knew there was going to be a large amount of people out on that counterprotest, and we knew who the vast majority of those people were. We had conversations what that was likely to look like.”

As to whether the police force would offer the same discretion to right-wing groups such as the now-defunct English Defence League, Richards merely said, “We policed in response to the intelligence that we receive at that moment in time.”

In response to the comments from the West Midlands Police, Reform UK deputy leader Richard Tice said: “Police boss admitting they enabled and were complicit in letting marauding masked mob control Birmingham streets. Utterly shameful. Two-tier politics. Two-tier policing. Two-tier Keir.”

Fellow Reform MP Rupert Lowe added: “A remarkable interview on the Birmingham violent mob rampage. ‘Policed within themselves’. Why is one group seemingly policed in an incredibly different way to others? It clearly does NOT work. Two-tier policing is rife. That MUST urgently change.”

We've already seen this in the U.S.: compare the kid gloves treatment given to BLM and Antifa rioters in the aftermath of George Floyd's overdose death versus the aggressive prosecutions of anyone that tried to defend themselves against said rioters; or the treatment of the recent pro-Palestinian mobs that stormed a Senate office building and vandalized public works around D.C.  versus the treatment afforded to the January 6 protestors.

The purpose of this two-tier policing is to discourage anyone that might think of rebelling against the ruling elite, but encourage the party faithful that they will be protected when they are needed to terrorize a group or people. The primary reason this tactic is successful is the surveillance--the ever-present security cameras, the undercover police in and around the crowds taking photographs, the informants, the drones, the monitoring of cell phones (i.e., personal tracking devices)--which is under control of the ruling elites and allows easy, after-the-fact, identification and arrest of those deemed enemies of the state.
