Update on Fargo, ND, Terror Attack

As I had written earlier, July 14, 2023, saw a probable terror attack in Fargo, ND, in which Mohamad Barakat set an ambush for police responding to a report of an automobile accident. At the time of the report, one officer had been killed, as well as Barakat, with two other officers wounded.

In addition to Barakat's rifle and 2000 rounds of ammunition, police also "found three long guns, four handguns, numerous ammo magazines, explosives, canisters with gasoline and a homemade hand grenade in Barakat's car. The investigation has found evidence Barakat was planning to attack another area of Fargo before encountering the responding police officers."

Although Barakat did not have a criminal record (other than a traffic infraction), authorities revealed that there was a Guardian report concerning him. Guardian is a computer data base set up after 9/11 to help track terrorist threats.

So why has this story largely been ignored in the media? With the Mohammad Factor at 100%, it seemed likely that this was an Islamic terror attack. But on top of that, it has now been revealed that "Barakat is originally from Syria [and] was allowed into the United States via asylum in 2012." In other words, it cuts against the narrative that refugees are just good people fleeing a bad situation.
