In this day an age, why wouldn't you carry a gun in your home?
OK, I carry something a bit smaller than a 1911. But, I carry it virtually all the time - my unenlightened employer won't let me carry in the office (state law allows firearms to be stored in cars in employee parking areas), many government buildings prohibit carrying, and I don't carry while taking a shower.
