VIDEO: "WOW! 23 NEW GUNS JUST ANNOUNCED!"--TheGunCollective (15 min.)
- "The Best New Rifles of SHOT Show 2023"--The Mag Life. Notable among these is that PTR has come out with a roller-lock 5.56 rifle similar to the HK33, but using standard AR magazines (which also allows it to have a bolt hold open). They are calling it the PTR 63.
- "SHOT Show 2023: The Leverlution"--The Mag Life. Several new lever action rifles (and a .410 shotgun) are being shown off.
- "The Best New Handguns of SHOT Show 2023"--The Mag Life. Among these is the Glock 47 which is finally being made available to the non-law enforcement public.
- "Optic-Ready Revolvers: Taurus 856 T.O.R.O .38 Spl. & 605 T.O.R.O. .357 Mag."--Guns & Ammo. Per the article, "[b]oth revolvers are milled at the factory to accept an optics plate and micro red dots based on the Holosun K footprint."
- "Diamondback DBX57 5.7x28mm Pistol: Full Review"--Guns & Ammo. This is a PDW style weapon just begging for the SBR treatment, sporting an 8-inch barrel with the trigger, safety and handguard being AR-15 compatible. However, it apparently only comes with a 20-round magazine.
- "5 Hot New Handguns For 2023"--American Rifleman. I suspect that the Smith & Wesson M&P5.7 is going to be the "must have" gun of this year.
- "New For 2023: Remington 360 Buckhammer"--American Rifleman. There must be a lot of people that hunt in areas that only allow the use of straight-wall cartridges because this is yet another straight-wall hunting cartridge promising similar performance to the .30-30. This cartridge is a rimmed round, however, intended for use in lever-action rifles. Henry will be manufacturing lever actions in this caliber.
- "New For 2023: Henry Repeating Arms Homesteader"--American Rifleman. A semi-auto carbine outfitted with wood furniture which is reminiscent of the old Marlin Camp Carbine. It uses a proprietary magazine, but Henry is also producing magazine inserts so that it can be used with magazines from Glock, Smith & Wesson, and Sig Sauer. The why for this weapon over a similar AR styled PCC is probably the same as why you might choose a Mini-14 over an AR-15 which is that it will look less threatening to the general public. Even the name is intended to not be "tactical". Guns.com has more on this firearm.
- "5 Exciting New Rifles For 2023"--American Rifleman. A mix of precision, hunting and defensive rifles and carbines.
- ".410 Bore KSG and New P17 From KelTec"--The Truth About Guns. The new P17 features a new top strap with an included Crimson Trace red dot. You can also buy the top strap (with optic) separately to upgrade an existing P17 (see the next article).
- "Editor’s Picks: SHOT Show 2023 Day Two"--Shooting Illustrated. Miscellaneous products. I sort of like the morningstar mace.
- "New For 2023: The Ruger Security-380"--Shooting Illustrated. I think this was announced ahead of Shot Show, but nevertheless, another major manufacturer releasing a .380 pistol.
- "New For 2023: The Kel-Tec R50 Rifle"--Shooting Illustrated. A rifle version (with folding stock) of their P50 pistol in 5.7mm. Since the 5.7mm is essentially a necked down .30 Carbine, it is interesting to see it gaining in popularity.
- "First Look: Leupold Mk5 HD 2-10x30mm Rifle Scope"--Shooting Illustrated.
- "[SHOT 2023] Strike Industries 2023 Lineup"--The Firearm Blog.
- "[SHOT 2023] New Nightstick Weapon Lights For Micro 9 Pistols, Full Size Guns"--The Firearm Blog.
- "B&T Brings The Compact Tactical Heat To Shot Show 2023"--Gun.com. Products intended for the door-crashing, puppy-stomping crowd.
