Pietta To Introduce A Colt Python Clone?

I saw an article at The Truth About Guns discussing Pietta's announcement of the PDA 357, a clone of the original Colt Python. This is something that has been in the works for a long while as I came across an announcement from April 2015 that they were planning on introducing a Python reproduction and were, at that time, simply waiting for ATF approval. (See also this roundup of guns and gear from the 2015 NRA Show in Nashville under the heading "Colt Python Revolver Clone"). At that time, Pietta was expecting to begin selling in "mid-summer". And yet, as far as I know, it never happened.

So will this turn out to be vapor ware like in 2015? And even if they import it, what will be the price? The TTAG article indicates that the European price will be about € 1200, which is about $1,400. But the article also warns that the U.S. price will be higher. So, would you pay as much or more for an Italian copy of the Python as you would pay for a brand new Colt Python?
