The user of this pistol obviously didn't much care for accuracy as he taped the flashlight on top of the barrel blocking the sights. Based on the squared off "flat latch" cylinder release, it is an early model of the Colt New Service revolver, probably dating from the 1920s or earlier. My understanding is that Colt switched to a round latch around 1927 - 1928.
