... from Grant Cunningham. As usual, he has selected a single article for each of three categories: defensive training and gear; personal safety and security; and preparedness and health.
For the defensive training, this week's article is from Range 365 and addresses using a restroom while carrying concealed. The main concerns are someone seeing the firearm and leaving the firearm behind. The article addresses these issues, gives some pointers on what not to do, and lists some types of holsters or carry that are more amenable allowing you to sit down to use a toilet. I've addressed this topic before as well, including my own post on "Number 2: Carrying a Handgun While Using the Toilet." To be honest, having switched to a shoulder holder carry method, I don't really worry about it anymore. (See also "One Weird Trick That No One Teaches You About Concealed Carry" at The Truth About Guns).
Under the next topic, Cunningham discusses the importance of using locks on outside doors to your home and your car to prevent thefts. Yes, locks can be defeated, and poor quality door locks or poorly installed door locks can be overcome or bypassed. But that should only provide impetus to check your locks and make necessary repairs or upgrades.
The final category this week is an article discussing the importance, for survival and prepping, of getting into good physical shape.
