I don't know that these 9 buildings will be forgotten by everyone--certainly they won't be forgotten by the people that work there--but they may be ignored or overlooked in the initial looting. Beyond the types of buildings that you might not immediately think of to scavenge food, water and other supplies from, the video also discusses time-lines: specifically, it suggests not doing much for the first few days while the looters are out in force; but then quickly work for the short period between when the looters have left and those that have hunkered down start to venture out.
I don't know how realistic this will be, but if there was something that happened to force people to leave the city, it sort of makes sense. Think of New Orleans immediately after Katrina where the majority of people had fled the city. I suspect that in the event of an EMP during the summer, cities like Phoenix and Las Vegas would quickly empty as they would quickly become unlivable for most people because of the lack of air conditioning and water.
