The story is from The Firearm Blog, which reports that 31 Sig M-17 pistols went AWOL. The military believes that the handguns were stolen, and is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of the pistols and/or the arrest of the person(s) responsible. The handguns went missing between March and May this year.
They "believe" the guns were stolen? that much should seem obvious.
ReplyDeleteThe Firearm Blog article described them as "lost" but the announcement of the reward from the Army uses both "missing" and "theft". They wouldn't have offered the reward if they hadn't already failed at all other attempts to track down the weapons.
