TTAG Tests the RIP Ammo

The Truth About Firearms blog has tested G2 Research's RIP ammo and came away with about what I expected. They were able to emulate the ballistic gel performance of the RIP round with three rounds of .22 LR from a pocket pistol: two CCI Segmented Hollow Point 32-grain varmint rounds to create the initial damage cavity and "trocars" and "a 60-grain Aguila Sniper Subsonic round, traveling at a paltry 747 feet per second" for the third round to emulate the deep penetration of the RIP ammo base. (The base of the RIP round measured at just over 43 grains). In fact, the .22 rounds actually did a better job at penetrating the ballistic gelatin.

There is a video and photos at the TTAG link.
