Weekend Reading

Greg Ellifritz has another Weekend Knowledge Dump for your perusal. Some of the links that caught my attention in particular:

  • A review of the S&W 432 Ultimate Carry Ti (titanium) review from RevolverGuy.com. The author recounts that the revolver he was provided for review failed so spectacularly it had to be sent back to the factory. They sent him another and it broke even faster than had the first one. Greg notes that in his experience the QC with S&W revolvers had been terrible for the last 5 years (I think it has been a bit longer than that). He recommends that if you want a new snub revolver to go with the Ruger LCR. It is too bad that Colt doesn't have some aluminum framed revolvers for sale, because they could make some serious inroads against S&W if they did so.
  • An article going over how to draw from the pocket for those of you into pocket carry. The author also discusses the different holsters and some other tips or useful information about pocket carry.
  • A piece with tips and advice for selecting a firearms instructor (and, conversely, some red-flags).
  •  A primer on using a weapon mounted light, but mostly about searching with one. Greg comments: "Unlike the author, I still prefer to search with a handheld light when clearing with a handgun (even one equipped with a WML)."
  • An article on the history of the Ingram machine pistols.
