VIDEO: Making A Sling Stick

The sling stick (not to be confused with a staff sling) is reminiscent of an atlatl or lacrosse stick. The sling stone (or sling bullet if you go that route) fits into a bowl or depression on one of the stick, held in place with a strip of leather or cordage, which is released when casting the stone. The one in the video is not very long, but I suppose that you could make longer versions.

I had, at one time, considered picking up a lacrosse stick to see if I could use it to sling stones or other objects, but this may be a better option since the stone can be held in place even if the stick is held at different angles.

It would probably make a decent weapon for hunting small game.
