Given that Leo spent so much time in Latin America and rose to such a prominent position within his church, none of this should be surprising:
- Looking at past social media posts, Leo seems to have drunk the Kool-Aid about man-made global warming, has been critical of the Catholic Church accommodating the homosexual lifestyle and homosexuals being allowed to adopt children, seems to be against abortion, wants countries to end capital punishment, is opposed to countries legalizing euthanasia, and seems to be a vehement anti-gunner.
- Another article notes that he has expressed support of mass immigration (at least into advanced nations) and opposes any sort of push back or restrictions as "nativist" and "racist". This article also reemphasizes his support of gun control measures.
- Although he voted in Republican primaries up through 2016, he skipped the general election that year and did not participate in Republican primaries since. Because of the stance adopted by the Democrats as to abortion and the LGBTQ, it makes sense that Leo would have voted Republican over the last couple of decades; but his more recent lack of participation suggests that he his anti-Trump.
- Finally, though, it is being reported that "[t]he newly-elected Pope Leo XIV is facing accusations of 'looking the other way' when confronted with child sex abuse allegations against a priests in his Chicago and South American churches, it has emerged." This tends to show that his primary loyalty is to the Catholic Church's leadership and reputation over even the needs of the laity.
We'll see . . .
ReplyDeleteI just wonder why so many religious leaders don't see how destructive mass immigration is a to a society, or don't care.
