Giving New Meaning To Hydraulic Civilizations

Apparently based on some findings of tunnels and other water works, some scientists have theorized that ancient Egyptians used hydraulics to lift the heavy stones used to build the Sttep Pyramid of Djoser, thought to have been constructed 4,500 years ago. "The study argues that the ancient Egyptians used pressurized water to float the pyramid’s building stones toward the upper levels of the growing structure through an internal shaftway in a process known as 'volcano' construction."
