Ruhbarb stock and leaves (Source: Rodale's Organic Life) |
Rhubarb is a gift that keeps on giving. A perennial that requires little care (other than watering), we get several harvests during the growing season from a single plant--more than enough for our modest requirements. One thing that we did that seemed to help the plant is that we put an old steel fire-pit ring around it. This seems to be enough to keep the plant warmer during cooler weather and get better growth from it.
