Alef Aeronautics Begins Production Of Flying Car

The New York Post reports that "Alef Aeronautics is turning sci-fi into reality by beginning production on the world’s first-ever flying car, the Alef Model A Ultralight, which will likely be available to customers by early 2026." The car will first be made available to beta testers before (if ever) being offered to the public. The pre-sale price is $300,000 and the company has already received 3,500 pre-orders.

  1. Hopefully it's not like the startup I read about in 2012. I can't remember the company name, but there was excitement about a flying car whose wings even folded up sufficiently to park in a normal parking space or driveway and then the supposed delivery date came and went. Never did find out what went wrong going from prototype and pre-orders to manufacture and delivery.

    1. I'm doubtful about its commercial viability as well, but one can hope.
