From Shadow of Ezra on X is a video clip of an interview with former CIA Director Mike Pompeo where he "claims that Americans who criticize Israel are committing a modern form of 'blood libel,' insisting that such voices should have no place in the Republican Party or in the country at all," and suggests that support of Israel is central to Conservatism in the U.S. The next question should by why does he think it central to Conservatism?
George Washington warned against foreign entanglements because of the risk of being dragged into foreign conflicts, and you can't get any more conservative in America than supporting the ideas of the Founding Fathers. Thus, this idea of undying support for Israel is not only unrelated to conservatism, but is the antithesis of American conservatism.
It sounds like somebody has kompromat on Pompeo.
ReplyDeleteYup. Probably a prerequisite for high level government positions.
DeleteWhat an odd thing to say . . .
ReplyDeleteThe current conservative leadership is scared of the new right, so this is a way of trying to delegitimize them.
