Conservatives (real conservatives, not RINOs) have long warned about the risk of being too dependent on China because it could choke off vital materials and goods in the event of a conflict. Thus there have been some efforts to decouple from China. But, as Lenin is said to have predicted, “When it comes time to hang the capitalists, they will vie with each other for the rope contract.” And so efforts to decouple from China have come under strong opposition from the industrial and financial sectors. On the other hand, as this video discusses, China is working to decouple itself from the West.
