Treating Hay Fever with Cellulose Powder

Wikimedia

Scientists have known for nearly a decade that a nose "spray" using cellulose powder can be effective for treating hay fever. This is because the powder forms a gel barrier that stops pollins from reaching the nasal membranes. Because the powders have no side effects, they can be especially beneficial for children. Recent research suggests that these products may be as effective as antihistamines, and corticosteroids used to treat the inflammation and swelling. Examples of cellulose sprays are products such as Care Allergy Defence and Nazaleze.
