From the New York Post: "Driver shouts ‘Allahu Akbar’ after plowing into 10 pedestrians, critically injuring 4 in France rampage: report." "An investigation was opened into the cause and motive behind the crash," the article stated, "including if the driver suffered from psychiatric disorders or was abusing drugs or alcohol." No name or other identification of the driver that I've been able to find: the BBC says it was "a local man"; Reuters said it was a French man and his motive was unknown; the Independent repeated reports that the man wasn't on a list of radicals but had recently become radicalized; the Australian Broadcasting Company reported that the driver was "Oleron resident" and that police were looking into whether the man had been experiencing mental health issues; and Le Monde notes that "[w]hen he was arrested, the driver cried 'God is the greatest' in Arabic – an expression that is a key refrain in Islam, but also used by extremist militants when carrying out attacks – the prosecutor said, but added that the man's motive was not immediately clear." And that is what we call gaslighting.
